| Elonwabeni Place of Care is a home away from home for our children. The staff are committed to creating a loving and caring environment. Each child is treated and cared for in line with a unique care plan, designed around the specific needs of the child. |
|
Our staff are exposed to ongoing training, in matters of HIV/AIDS, childcare, nutrition, child development, etc. We have a qualified nurse who supervises the hygienic and physical conditions of our children. She spends one day a month at our Place of Care, and is on standby for any emergencies or questions. |
| At Elonwabeni Place of Care, we place a great deal of value on small numbers. We are set up for 16 children, but attempt to keep our numbers down to a maximum of 14 children at any given time. The success of our programme cannot be measured by the number of children in our care at any given time, but rather at the number of children who have successfully reunited with their families. To date, the number of children reunited with families amount to 23. |
