Elonwabeni Children's Centre is registered as a Section 21 Company, not for profit under the name 'Act of Grace 35'.
Act of Grace 35 is the mother body for the following programmes:
- Elonwabeni Place of Happiness
- Elonwabeni Family Support Programme
- Elonwabeni WireArt and Beading Programme
- Training and Counselling
The Board
Act of Grace is governed by a Board who has executive powers in terms of the policies, structure, programmes, etc. The Board is responsible for ensuring the transparent and efficient running of the programmes, with the aim being to be accountable to the public and the State. The Board members are:
Helen Barnard, Independant Consultant and Trainer
Denise Landes, Programme Manager and Founding member. Also representative for 'Kinderaidshilfe Südafrika' in South Africa.

Cooperation with Department of Social Development and Department of Justice
Elonwabeni Child and Family Centre works closely with the Department of Social Development. We only take children upon referral by Government institutions. The children placed in our care are placed in our care through legal channels - within 24 hours of placement, they are committed to our care by the Courts. The Department of Justice makes a monthly contribution for each child placed in our care, for the period of their stay.
Act of Grace and Südafrika und AIDS has an active partnership, making Act of Grace 35 the exclusive partner for Südafrika und AIDS here in South Africa.
